Objectives: The Saturday Afternoon program is intended to help
high school students to achieve better results in their academic studies,
assist students with their homework, give them the opportunity to study
for their tests and gain knowledge.
- Create a safe environment for young students and give them a place to go to when the school day is over and on weekends.
- Promote academic success, positive youth development, and foster a desire to learn and achieve goals.
- Build self-esteem and set goals for themselves.
- Motivate to learn and be creative, have college as a possible future option.
- Provides good Student- Parent communication.
- Give mentors experience in public education and have positive influence on a child.
- Provide best after-school alternatives on Saturdays and expose students to science, art, and ethics by taking students to areas/museums of art and science.
- Through education, sports, and fun help students achieve their full potential.
- Understand the importance of education.
- Have high school students tutor middle school students, in return have high school students receive community service hours for their work.
